Egyptian Baccalaureate Tracks 2027: Subjects for Every Study Path
The Egyptian Baccalaureate allows students to choose one of four academic tracks starting from Grade 11. Each track includes specialized subjects that prepare students for different university majors and career paths. Here's a quick overview of every track and its subjects.
The Egyptian Baccalaureate certificate is calculated from Grade 11 and Grade 12 only. Grade 10 is a shared foundation year that does not count toward the total; students choose their track at the end of it.
Across the two years a student studies 7 subjects, of which 6 count toward a final total of 600 marks, at 100 marks per subject:
- Grade 11: 4 subjects worth 400 marks — two thirds of the final total.
- Grade 12: 2 specialized subjects worth 200 marks — one third of the final total.
- Religious Education: studied in Grade 12 as a pass/fail subject outside the total, requiring 70% to pass.
In Grade 11, students on all four tracks study three shared subjects — Arabic, First Foreign Language, and Egyptian History — and then each track adds a fourth specialization subject, which also counts toward the total. Grade 12 is entirely specialized.

Grade 11 therefore carries the heavier weight in the certificate, even though Grade 12 holds the specialized subjects. Students may sit improvement exams to raise their marks across both years.
